The traditional Italian Christmas cake from Nannini Patisseries in Siena.
Inside you’ll find candied fruit and raisins, just as tradition dictates, with dried fruit and citrus essences.
The origins of Panettone are wrapped in legend. It’s said that the first Panettone was created by a Milanese apprentice baker named Antonio, who invented the cake for his beloved. Soon, everyone in Milan wanted this “Pane di Antonio” – “Tony’s bread” – which later became known as Panettone.
Traditionally, Panettone is enjoyed not only at Christmas but also on New Year’s Eve, often paired with sparkling wine.
